Abnormal Measles-Mumps-Rubella Antibodies and CNS Autoimmunity in Children with Autism

Abstract
Autoimmunity to the central nervous system (CNS), especially to myelin basic protein (MBP), may play a causal role in autism, a neurodevelopmental disorder. Because many autistic children harbor elevated levels of measles antibodies, we conducted a serological study of measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) and MBP autoantibodies. Using serum samples of 125 autistic children and 92 control children, antibodies were assayed by ELISA or immunoblotting methods. ELISA analysis showed a significant increase in the level of MMR antibodies in autistic children. Immunoblotting analysis revealed the presence of an unusual MMR antibody in 75 of 125 (60%) autistic sera but not in control sera. This antibody specifically detected a protein of 73-75 kD of MMR. This protein band, as analyzed with monoclonal antibodies, was immunopositive for measles hemagglutinin (HA) protein but not for measles nucleoprotein and rubella or mumps viral proteins. Thus the MMR antibody in autistic sera detected measles HA protein, which is unique to the measles subunit of the vaccine. Furthermore, over 90% of MMR antibody-positive autistic sera were also positive for MBP autoantibodies, suggesting a strong association between MMR and CNS autoimmunity in autism. Stemming from this evidence, we suggest that an inappropriate antibody response to MMR, specifically the measles component thereof, might be related to pathogenesis of autism.

Authors' conclusions

The design and reporting of safety outcomes in MMR vaccine studies, both pre- and post-marketing, are largely inadequate. The evidence of adverse events following immunisation with MMR cannot be separated from its role in preventing the target diseases.

Now that the end vascular territories are impaired, this is like a series of areas wherein the blood vessel pipes are "crimped,", partially blocked..or obliterated. However, there is residual damage done, and the micro-circulation is compromised in unrecoverable ways. If any more vaccines are given, the resulting effect is worse than the first time it happened. How much proof is that; it IS ALL vaccines!  

There are puffs of new vessels forming, known as Moyamoya, that appear as white puffs in imaging. These  puffs are the bodies attempt to revascularize hypoxic areas of the end vascular territories of the brain, to recover from ischemia/hypoxia in the brain. Silent ischemia strokes, from repeat vaccinations. It ALL fits, every bit of it now, as well as the reasons biomedical treatment has worked for many children. As long as the vaccines are stopped, early enough.  

Does it seem understandable that doctors that have realized these strokes, then went in with aspirin and made it worse? Reye' is a mass disorder. Those doctors that seen it on imaging, the white puff spots, treated it like a new disease, and never knew what it was. They just can not ever stop treating and start healing, seems no matter what... causes do not ever matter to them. The whole modern medicine plan is to treat, not find nor realize the cause and heal.

A STATEMENT FROM PARENTS OF AUTISTIC CHILDREN TREATED BY THE THREE DOCTORS

The GMC was WRONG to find the doctors guilty on the findings of fact when no parent or patient was a complainant in this fitness to practice hearing. The Panel has chosen the facts it wants, and rejected those it doesn’t want, to find the doctors guilty on fact – facts that go back 16 years.

The evidence

Parents heard the doctors put up a robust defence. Documents and evidence produced by the doctors showed

the 1995 ethics committee letter granting approval for the Lancet research was produced
the research followed the terms of the approval given the Lancet editor knew that Wakefield was doing a separate legal aided study all the children were on the autistic spectrum the children were recruited as described in the Lancet paper the use of invasive interventions – colonoscopies, etc – was clinically justified
no child was harmed; no parent refused consent; no parent complained.

However, the GMC chose to ignore the 1995 ethical approval and substitute a 1996 approval, allowing them to reach the findings they did – a blatant disregard for justice. They also insisted that ‘pervasive developmental disorder’ was not the same as autism spectrum disorders which of course it is; and that only children who had had the measles or measles/rubella vaccine should have been admitted onto the project, not those who had had the MMR. The hearing moved the goalposts so that the doctors had no chance of overturning the serious charges against them.

The injustice

This is the same GMC that missed Harold Shipman, the Bristol babies and Alder Hey. We believe it has made another blunder.

This scandalous show trial was used to mask real concerns parents have about why their children regressed into autism following MMR. The GMC and government engaged in a callous and diversionary tactic to end speculation about MMR safety and ensure scientific research into autism and bowel disease, and the role of vaccines, ended.

Parents’ requests that this research should continue fell on deaf ears. At the same time the numbers of autistic children has risen thirty-fold since the MMR was introduced in 1988 amidst the parents’ constant pleas for research into why their children were damaged. What role vaccines play in our children’s deaths (in some cases), seizures, regressive autism, bowel disease, daily pain and disability must be investigated.

The effects of the GMC hearing are to warn off doctors from expressing similar concerns about one size fits all vaccination policy and to ensure that scientists won’t investigate vaccine safety. The effect is to ensure government contracts with the large drug-makers are safeguarded and that clauses compelling government to make good their loss of earnings should MMR sales drastically fall are not activated. The commercial interests of the drug-makers take priority over research into why autism has increased dramatically.

The plan has been to “discredit” the doctors and ensure they are left undefended in the media. The press have been compelled to refer to their “discredited” work. But scientists claiming this have never fully replicated their work; the doctors’ research remains original and significant.

Independent research into why autism has increased must be funded, without powerful drug makers influencing the research agenda to keep share prices high and protect their products.

Essentially the American Academy of Pediatrics shows the same findings of gastrointestinal problems in autistic children; and that is found in a very recent study. The same thing as Dr Wakefield has shown in his studies since before 1998. Only Wakefield attributes it to the MMR vaccine; which causes these children to develop high levels of measles antibody in the intestine, and brain; thus being part of the induced ASD. It has been seen time after time;  that detox of heavy metals from vaccination, as well as antiviral detox measures, together with one or more; and/or at times just  the diet changes alone have worked, (eliminating common food allergens); and have reversed the symptoms of autism, with astounding results. Go figure, any thinking person can see it is none other than the vaccines as cause, when it happens so shortly after vaccines. Often most dangerous is a load of vaccines close together, or in one day. If the federal court can put time limits on it, and enough unfair clauses; they never will have to admit it. Enter, Dr. Andrew Moulden! Oh, but I don't think the last chapter is written yet in the CDC's history; lets wait and see?

[My note: Take one case of chicken pox that rarely results in death, and fear monger the entire nation to get all the shots for their children; with false figures and analysis, they know are false, and without merit.  And just where do they come up with that 33, 000 death figure? Thats funny? Mayer Eisenstein didn't have any death there at Homefirst? Gee? I bet it was the herd immunity the rest of the nation had, that protected them?

 Even if they believe vaccines worked, WHY can they not address and be honest about what is happening to these kids; and what is happening to their health, nationwide. This mission of and for complete truth and disclosure, must never be given up. The lives of all children are clearly at risk, due to all these new and added vaccines. The study retracted on Tuesday looked at 12 children suffering from colitis, a gastrointestinal disease.
British surgeon and medical researcher Andrew Wakefield concluded a component of the measles, mumps and rubella, or MMR, vaccine caused the colitis, which in turn led to development problems that are part of autism spectrum disorder.

"It has become clear that several elements of the 1998 paper by Wakefield ? are incorrect," The Lancet said in a statement.

Since the controversial paper was published, British parents abandoned the vaccine, leading to a resurgence of measles in the U.K. and elsewhere in Europe.

Subsequent studies have found no proof that the vaccine is connected to autism, though some parents are still wary of the shot. In March 2004, the majority of co-authors on the paper retracted their support for the claims of a possible link between the vaccine and colitis or autism.

'Callous disregard'

A disciplinary panel of Britain's General Medical Council ruled last week that Wakefield had presented his research in an "irresponsible and dishonest" way and shown a "callous disregard" for the suffering of the children he studied.
It also ruled he had brought the medical profession "into disrepute."
Wakefield and the two colleagues who have not renounced the study face being stripped of their right to practise medicine in Britain.

For the study, Wakefield took blood samples from children at his son's birthday party, paying them five pounds each ($8) for their contributions and later joking about the incident.

Meanwhile, fallout from the publication of the study continues.

"It was out there for a very long time. So it's good The Lancet has retracted it. It helps in a small way. But the truth of the matter is the damage has been done," in terms of changes in belief and perception, said Dr. Allison McGeer, an infectious diseases expert at Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital.

Costs of retraction delay

The retraction is important, but the time it has taken to get to this point dulls its impact, said Dr. Evdokia Anagnostou, a clinician scientist at Bloorview Research Institute in Toronto.

"There is room to study the link between the immune system and autism," she added. "Still, I don't think we have clarified that issue, and I would hope that the money goes towards that route and not again on the MMR hypothesis."

The medical publishing industry has made strides to ensure trials are registered properly, people are reviewed appropriately and that conflicts of interest are prominent so people can make up their own minds in controversial areas,

Henry added.

Concerns about the MMR vaccine spread to Europe and North America.
In 2007, a large outbreak of mumps was set off in the Maritimes after the virus was imported from the United Kingdom, said Dr. Noni MacDonald, a pediatric infectious diseases expert at Dalhousie University in Halifax.

More than 1,000 cases were recorded over a period of months as that outbreak spread across the country.
Wakefield remains outspoken and said last week that the panel's findings were "unjust and unfounded." His supporters believe he has been the subject of a conspiracy to discredit him.

Re:  retracted a controversial study; how can findings be "retracted"?  Wakefield found measles virus in the bowel lymphoid tissue in autistic children.  That is why he is being attacked, because this finding shows that the measles vaccine GAVE the children measles, which could not be eliminated due to the corruption of the immune system explained in "Inoculations the True WMD" and "Dr Carley's Responce to the CDC" on www.drcarley.com, which occurs when viruses are injected into the bloodstream.
 
Re:  "British surgeon" and "Wakefield took blood samples from children at his son's birthday party", Wakefield is a gastroenterologist, not a surgeon.  He found the measles virus in the lymphoid tissue in the guts of autistic children during endoscopies, which were obviously not performed at a birthday party.
